Ken Kasdan is one of the nations leading construction defect attorneys and has been managing partner of the Kasdan Simonds firm, which he established, for more than 25 years. He earned his law degree from the State University of New York, at Buffalo, and his bachelor of arts degree, cum laude, from Bernard M. Baruch College of the City University of New York. Ken was admitted to the California State Bar in 1976, and is licensed to practice before the U.S. District Court, Central District of California. He was admitted to the Arizona State Bar in 2003. Ken is a member of the American Bar Association (Member: Business Law Section); Committee on Commercial Financial Services; Subcommittee on Interest and Usury, Creditor Rights; Litigation Section; Construction Industry Forum Committee); State Bar Association of California; Orange County Bar Association (Member: Business Litigation Section); Orange County Trial Lawyers Association; Judge Pro Tem, Orange County Superior Court; the Orange County Superior Court Judicial Arbitration Panel; and the Maricopa County Bar Association.

West Coast Casualty Seminar, Anaheim CA

Ken will be a featured panelist at the 18th Annual West Coast Casualty Construction Defect Seminar being held May 13-14, 2011, in Anaheim, CA. His panel, "Where Do We Go From Here?" is comprised of industry professionals with more than 25 years of construction defect claims and litigation from across the country. Ken and his fellow panelists are uniquely situated, given their diverse backgrounds and experience in the construction defect community, to respond to a series of questions about the state of the industry from insurance products to pending legislation.

DRI Construction Defect Seminar, Scottsdale, AZ

Ken is scheduled to be a featured panelist at the DRI Construction Defect Seminar, being held September 22-23, 2011 in Scottsdale, AZ. Each year DRI brings together attorneys, insurance professionals and industry experts to discuss current issues and hot topics in the Construction Defect legal arena. Ken will discuss damages, including any new or developing theories of damages, from the plaintiffs' perspective.

HB Construction Litigation Leader's Forum, Marina del Rey, CA

Ken was Co-Chair of the HB Construction Litigation Leaders’ Forum, held March 2011 in Marina del Rey, CA. The "Chair's View of Construction Defect Litigation" included a discussion on defect claims in the current economic environment: planning, litigation and resolution, the role of case selection in today's climate, and what the future holds for defect litigation. Over 130 industry professionals attended the forum.
